We wish you a very warm welcome to Holding Lodge; we offer a warm, friendly and cozy family run bed and breakfast for all. Our location is very convenient as we are within striking distance of Chester town centre and a mile radius to all modes of transport services available. Railway and Bus stations are all within an 8-10 minute walking distance. Taxis are easily and cheaply hired. Airports are no more than 30 miles away or 25 minutes by road, (Liverpool John Lennon & Manchester Ringway). Major motorway links which service the whole of the UK are less than a mile away from our front door.

Holding Lodge was established in the late 1800's and stood a proud Victorian property as it does today, very little structurally has changed in the main building since then. It underwent a major refurbishment in 1990 consisting of a complete re-build of the rear section of the property whilst maintaining all the original décor of the day in the main building. Cornices, covings, ceiling roses and scrolls in the hallways are still as they were when the master craftsmen of the Victorian era first worked them, and are under the protection of the conservation auspices of the City of Chester.

There is one thing at Holding Lodge that sets us apart, that's not only putting you first while you're with us, but we are keen to share our beautiful village of Hoole with you. Shops, restaurants, pharmacy, hair salons, pubs, supermarkets, gift shops, to name but a few, are all 500 yards away from our establishment, some are even closer. Hoole residents are very friendly people and will always be helpful in any way they can. Bus stops are dotted around Hoole Road and catching a bus into Chester is recommended rather than taking your vehicle. Walking will only take 10-15 minutes maximum.
