BELTANE BED AND BREAKFAST
Our guest suite consists of a separate bedroom, wet room and lounge.
Beltane is a Grade II listed farmhouse located in Dulcote, just outside of the city of Wells. Our guest suite consists of a separate bedroom (comfortable king size bed), TV lounge area and en-suite wet room (shower/basin and WC) which you can access via your own exterior door from the garden. There is also an internal door which allows you into the dining room where breakfast is served at a time to suit your schedule. You will find complementary bottled water in the fridge along with ample supplies of tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits. There is plenty of room in the fridge to chill your own wine and drinks if you wish; we will supply the wine glasses. We try to ensure that there are fresh flowers and fruit in the room for guests who book in advance. Free broadband (WiFi) is available when you stay with us.

This restored 15th Century coaching inn is situated in the heart of the small medieval city of Wells, by the cathedral green, just metres away from the ancient marketplace. The hotel is a great base from which to discover historic Wells and the surrounding areas of beauty and interest in Somerset. Bristol, Bath, Glastonbury, Cheddar, Clarks Village, Wookey Hole and Longleat are all close by. THE ANCIENT GATEHOUSE
Set on the green opposite the cathedral’s west front.
The hotel exudes an old, intriguing atmosphere with its centuries-old spiral stone staircase and quaint little passages. Just yards away from the ancient market place and Bishop’s Palace and well positioned for discovering Somerset’s history and beauty spots. The atmosphere of the hotel is unrivalled, and its original features and characteristics have been retained where possible. Nine bedrooms, two of which have four-poster beds, are all en-suite. The hotel’s history can be traced back to the feudal barons, and still preserved with the cathedral records are details of its rebuilding in 1473. The Great West Gate which forms part of the property (now called Browne's Gate) is designated an ancient monument. During the reign of Edward VI (1547 - 1553), the hotel was an armed keep, and after a period of confiscation it was handed back to the Church by Mary Tudor (1553-1558). The hotel offers price reductions for senior citizens, and is licensed for civil marriages.
