DOWER COTTAGE
A large country house in peaceful location close to Brighton.
Situated just below the South Downs way for walking, cycling and riding. Clayton itself is a very tiny hamlet well known for its folly, a house above the main London - Brighton railway line, also the Jack and Jill windmills, one of which still grinds corn at weekends. Clayton Church was mentioned in the Doomsday Book and has some incredible wall paintings. We are only 35 minutes from Gatwick and 40 minutes from Newhaven for the ferry to France. Many National Trust properties are also close by, Wakehurst Place, Sheffield Park Gardens and Nymans to name but a few. We also have two self catering cottages for rent.
