The Burrell Collection 2060 Pollokshaws Road
A collection of 8000 art exhibits, from Chinese Ceramics to French Impressionist paintings, donated by shipping magnate Sir William Burrell. Located in the attractive surroundings of Pollok Country Park.

The Lighthouse 11 Mitchell Lane
This Centre for Architecture, Design and the City was opened in 1999. The Lighthouse also houses the permanent Charles Rennie Mackintosh Interpretation and Orientation Centre.

Hunterian Art Gallery and Mackintosh House 82 Hillhead Street
This art gallery is located at the University of Glasgow. Exhibits include paintings, drawings and prints by J.A.M Whistler and international paintings from the seventeenth century onwards. The exhibition also includes Mackintosh House, a reconstruction of the house Scotland's best known architect and designer, Charles Rennie Mackintosh, complete with original furniture.

Art Gallery and Museum Argyle Street
This very popular gallery and museum's display include a range of European paintings covering the fifteenth to the seventeenth centuries and more modern works. Also includes an exhibition of 20th century furniture and decorative art objects. Free admission.

Gallery of Modern Art Queen Street
The Gallery of Modern Art has four floors of paintings and sculptures from around the world, including works by Peter Howson, Beryl Cook and Sean Reid. Also offers a hands-on experience with interactive computers and art workshops.

Glasgow Botanic Gardens 730 Great Western Road
This popular tourist attraction is a centre for education, conservation and research, located in a glass house.

Glasgow School of Art 167 Renfrew Street
Still a working art school, this is Scottish architect, Charles Rennie Mackintosh's, most famous work. Admission is by guided tour only and you are advised to book in advance in high-season.
